Write for us
Prime Music Journal welcomes considered contributions about music listening, songcraft, instruments, recording and music history. We are interested in pieces that begin with a precise question and help a general reader hear or understand something more clearly.
What to pitch
Propose an original article with a defined subject, a clear reader benefit and a fresh angle. Strong pitches might explain a musical choice, compare two ways of hearing or making something, trace a musical idea through history, or offer a focused listening exercise. Keep the scope manageable and avoid relying on research claims that cannot be checked.
What makes a good contribution
Write in plain, accurate language and explain technical terms when they are needed. Ground the piece in specific musical details, separate evidence from opinion, and make any examples serve the central idea. We are not looking for promotional copy, uncredited material or broad claims about what all listeners hear.
Send a proposal
Send your pitch through the Contact page. Include a working title, a short summary, why the subject suits Prime Music Journal and any relevant links or sources for checking the idea. A proposal is not a commitment to publish, and we may discuss edits before accepting a completed piece.
Every sound is a choice worth hearing.
We look at music with curiosity rather than a scorecard, noticing how small decisions can change the whole listening experience.
